IT’S YOUR TREASURY

As we start a New Year, I want to thank everyone who supported the success of A.B.A.T.E. of PA. For me, especially all the Chapter and District Treasurers, and everyone who supported the operation of the A.B.A.T.E. of PA State Treasury.

REPORTS: Treasurers, you’re doing good sending in your reports, thanks. I’m requesting that you complete all your December and any missing reports by the end of January. There is a lot that needs to be done but can’t be started until I get your information.

1099-MISC Reports. Remember that any 2017 combined payout at $600.00 or above, to an individual  requires that they be issued a IRS 1099-MISC, before the end of January and that these 1099’s also get reported to the IRS and a copy of the IRS report be sent to the State Treasurer. If you have the need to send a 1099-MISC you can send the State Treasurer the IRS W-9 and a description of what they won or the cash they won, no later that the 15th of January. As State Treasurer I will prepare the 1099-MISC and send you back a copy for your records.

L & L SEMINAR. I would hope to see all Chapter and District Treasurers at the 2018 L & L. It’s important that you learn about the changes affecting your position. Especially, if you’re a newly elected treasurer.

ON A PERSONAL NOTE. It is important that I thank two individuals. These individuals discovered two errors in the Monthly News Letter Treasurers Reports (Only). First, a check that was not listed in the Monthly Report to the members. Second, check book balances were reported lower than they actually were. All necessary corrections have been corrected. These errors only pertain to the newsletter reports. The Board of Directors will be sent an email explanation and a file containing reports for January thru October reports.  I am unable to say who the individuals are because the second error was reported through a third party, but thank you, whoever you are.

IN CLOSING. You’re reading the January “Between the Lines”, getting ready for Christmas and the New Year, possibly wondering if you’ve done everything you need to get done, but relax, enjoy your Family, Friends, Neighbors, and enjoy the Christmas Season, before you start of another year.

All the best to you and your family, in the New Year from your State Treasurer.
